Default Tune Up

Does anyone need a tune up? I don’t know why I have not posted this before but I tune my own car as best I can within my abilities. I also get a lot of help from Jeff at Carolina Auto Masters.

I met Jeff several years ago at a Corvette national event in South Carolina. A Florida tuner had just tuned my car (no one on this board) and I didn’t have a chance to test it prior to going to this event. I took the car off the trailer, warmed it up and made a test run. The car was over a second slower and I couldn’t get it off the line which resulted in a terrible reaction time. I went ballistic and then depression set in. I traveled all that way for nothing. No way I could compete like this.

Other competitors introduced me to Jeff and he said he could tune it. That’s part of his business. I paid him $250 and he went to work. I made 2 runs and the car settled down and I was once again ready to rumble. It’s too bad the event was rained out the next day.

What I didn’t know is that I also got life time support for as long as I own the car. Just recently I noticed a little timing knock in some of my scans. I asked Jeff if I should retard the timing a bit. He said no and had me email him my tune. He added a little more fuel which is something I never thought of. I’ll test it June 12 at PBIR and if it needs more tweaking he’ll do it or tell me what to change.

If you need a mail order tune contact Jeff at http://www.carolinaautomasters.com/ He still only charges $250.
