In 72 they didn't offer......
One thing I noticed on my first road trip today is a major blind spot on the right side of the car. I want to add a R side mirror (NCRS might not laud the idea but) Do the mirrors offered my mid america and such have backing plates and templates for location?
Has anyone gone down this trail?
Ken

Sorry Ken, I can't help you with this one. I also don't have a right side mirror but I have tried to keep my '69 as original as possible so I have not gone down this road. You might want to check in the C3 section of Corvette Forum. I would be surprised if you don't get the information there that you need.

When I purchased my '74 back in '74 the right side mirror (small head) was a dealer installed option just like the repro's sold by our site vendor's. I'm not sure when they became available, but I know that the right side was also available in '73 as a dealer installed option. The luggage rack in those year's was also a dealer installed option. Hope this helps and I wouldn't worry about NCRS. Safety is more important if you drive the car. BTW, the mounting system you describe is the factory mounting system. The package comes with a template to drill for the two retaining screws.
