Yeah, been looking around. Looks like I'm going to have to fork out even more money out of my pockets for this. And this is going to push back my getting the car for at least another week.
Is there a difference between the valve covers needed for LS7, LS2, or LS 1/6 heads? I believe those heads I got are LS7 style.
Seriously, I'm thinking I should have cut my losses long ago and parted the car out. This crap is getting REAL old now... Heading towards the 14 month goalpost now.......

Well that certainly now throws a monkey wrench into things. We have to find some custom valve covers that will be thick enough to seal, and tall enough to clear those Jesel rocker arms.
I was really hoping for some good God damned news today........

What about a double gasket while you're looking for better covers? Gets you into the car for a good shakedown. Then when the new covers come in you can get everything finished.

I thought about that with my truck air ride suspension fiasco. I almost sold it a year ago and REALLY glad I didn't. It's an absolute blast to drive. I've still have a ton of things to do to it, but I really can't imagine not having it in my driveway.

Yeah, I asked Aaron about that, but he indicated that it wouldn't help. I guess it's because the flimsy metal of the covers flexes too much and just won't tighten down. The covers just BEND rather than tighten.
Probably some cheap Chinese crap.......

Time for a little reverse psychology.
After all this time you are going to quit now over a little set of valve covers and gasket. Give me a break my grandmother can change a valve cover.
Just make sure it gets added to the bill for well you know.l

Ever heard the phrase "the straw that broke the camel's back"?
I'm just sick and tired of this whole mess. Made all the worse because I thought the nightmare was just about over with this weekend. This son of a bitch is likely going to haunt me for the rest of my damned life.

Yeah, it certainly is unique. A monument to a damned bad decision on my part.
It took me about 39 years to forget the lesson that my '66 GTO impressed upon me. Fortunately I won't live long enough to forget THIS lesson. Not that Connie would LET me forget it, anyway....
