Default Exhaust evacuation from the garage.

Been getting tired of being nearly asphyxiated whenever I start up the C5Z to check the tuning on the startup and idle, so I decided to try to kluge something up to get the exhaust fumes out of the garage while I am running the car.

So the other day Connie and I went to Lowe's and found something that looked like it might do the job. Four inch drainage pipes and some 'Y' joints. I measured my tailpipe tips and I needed four inch piping, so this looked like just the ticket. Parts cost me under $30, so if it works, it certainly will be a cheap enough solution.

So today I put it all together.

Seems to work pretty well, but there is still a slight exhaust odor, so I'm going to seal up the joints with black duct tape to make a more airtight seal. Definitely reduces the noise in the garage as well. Would probably be better if I put some sort of vent into a wall to attach the pipe to, as there is some blow back underneath the garage door. Either that or just get another 10 ft piece of tubing and just run the end out further.

The only immediate problem I can see is storing that thing somewhere when not in use. Probably will have to figure out some way to put it on hooks on the side wall nearest the lift, I suppose.

But at least if I want to go out there to do some idle tuning, even late at night, I can do so without having all the garage vents and door open to get some fresh air in there so the exhaust doesn't do me in.
