Looks like 3 1/2 inches here last night. Lots of lightning too. The power flickered a few times but we never lost it for more than a few seconds.

Got a small amount of rain, only .55" but it seemed to come down all at once. Caught me with my pants down as I was out working with the tractor and I thought those few raindrops that came down was going to just go away like they did the last time a little sprinkle came through.

Heavy wind and rain chased us out of Nashville almost to Atlanta on Wednesday night. Then everything was fine in Orlando and Lakeland but by the time we made it back up to the state line a huge storm met us there on 75. And there was a major crash in the northbound lanes at the border so we had to take a detour. But we made it around that after we got to Valdosta and got home without encountering any more rain, although it was quite windy. Woke up at 3 AM to heavy rain, wind and frequent lightning! Enough wind that it blew a 6 foot deck box with 10 gallons of gasoline in it across my patio and one of my wife's potted plants off the front porch! No major limbs down though and no loss of power.

This electric company stays on top of things up here. We seldom have a power outage and even when a huge branch from one of our Pecan Tree's fell on the main wire coming to the house, they were here within the hour. And that was on a Saturday! And they had us going again in an hour. So much better than when we lived in Tallahassee.

We will see what today brings.

We got a lot of wind Thursday night but apparently it was minor compared to the Tallahassee area. Rich, how are you making out in Crawfordville?

No appreciable damage here, but Comcast was out for about 24 hours. Had the top of a cherry tree snap off and land on top of a palm tree, but I used the tractor to pull it off. I got alerts on my phone of an extreme tornado warning. I heard there were three that touched down. A friend east of Tallahassee said he heard the characteristic "freight train" noise nearby and had about 10 of his big oak trees get the tops snapped off of them. And I heard that Woodvile got damage. Oh, my friend east of Tallahassee said he was without power and they were guestimating that it could be 3 to 4 days before it was restored.
