C6 rear diff and suspension install
Trying to find some information out before tackling this.
C6 production 08/04
Entire rear suspension with 3.42 diff
I know about the weak case issue
I know the transmission were the same for 05 and c5, so the diff will bolt directly to the transmission.
Biggest question is about the wheelbase added length of 1.2" for the 2005 year did it move the diff back as well?

Is this something you are doing to your C5?

yes.
found out lgmotorsports makes solid mount. so i'll be making some out of square tube steel and weld bolts to it. i can put a 1/4" rubber mat material i have to reduce vibration.

Just curious about why you are doing this. What benefits does the C6 differential and rear suspension have over the C5?
For instance, when I was looking at replacing my half shafts on my C5Z, all opinions I read indicated that the C5 shafts were stronger than the ones in the C6. That doesn't mean it was correct, however.

the 3.15 diff i put in my car whines. i knew it when i got it for 100.00. this entire rear suspension with 3.42 diff i got for 200.00. so beats trying to find a 3.42 c5 diff that go for about 500.00-650.00. so, that's my reason.
going to be making solid mounts out of 3" square tubing maybe this weekend.
on another note, the c6 wheelbase is 1.2" longer than the c5. plus it has more suspension travel. GM did this for better ride and handling. so, i'll get that as well.
