Default Dont look if you like numbers matching!

The recent talk of the town
Car was restored 5years ago all numbers matching 327- 300hp power glide, New owner said is wasn't enough!
how is a 572 5-speed swap for enough?

It reminds me of my 340 hp '63. I bought it in the fall of '62 and was afraid to get a 360 because my friends were telling me that there wasn't a lot of people who knew how to work on fuelies.
I raced 1/4 mile and the best I turned was 12.2 @ 120mph. Fuelies turned 11.9 or 12 flat. I decided to put in a 360 horse cam, three dueces and straight headers. In the process of welding the headers, didn't realize the fuel filter had leaked a little and we had a neat fire. Burned a piece of the right fender and the wire harness.
Anyway, could never get the car to run right with the 360 cam and took it out. Heck of an experiece though.

Can you tell us what you are doing for a hood. I have a feeling that the 572 with the 3 deuces may have some clearance issues under a stock mid year small block hood. A friend of mine has a shop here in Maryland and he just completed a 572 install in a '67 coupe. I know he had a custom FI intake made to get a big block hood to fit and they had to do a little fiberglass massaging to get that to work. But it is a nice setup!

As far as the hood goes, it is a funny story. The customer swore that he was told that it would fit under a stock flat small block hood before the project began. I laughed at that, but he still said to do it. Now that the engine is in, I showed him what it looks like with the air cleaner on. He was shocked. Now I have a 66 big block hood on its way. It will fit when I get done, as many remember, there were factory big blocks with 3-2, this one is just a little taller. The unseen fitment issue was the 5 speed. That was like putting 10 lbs in a 5 lb sack.
