Rain today

Yes, not sure how much to expect really but I think they've settled on 1-2 inches. That doesn't bother me as much as knowing that no one here has any experience driving on snow, let alone ice.

So we ended up with around 6 to 8 inches of snow on the ground. Not sure how that converts but there was only about a half inch in the rain gauge after it melted but it was blowing sideways the whole time it was snowing. It's been very slow to melt what with freezing temps every night since it fell. Still have some on the roof and patches on the ground where the sun hasn't melted it all. Wow!

Yeah.... I found myself doing something that I thought I would NEVER, EVER have to do again in my lifetime. Shoveling snow and ice off of my steps. Seriously, that is just not RIGHT living in Florida.

Only got 0.06" of rain here so far this month, and that was Tuesday night. But looks like we've got some rain coming this way over the next few days.

We got almost an inch and a quarter last night/early morning in a short period of time. One of our sons and his family are staying with us and he said the thunderstorm woke him up. We had to deal with this storm all week from Kentucky down to North Florida. Got delayed last night in Monteagle, Tennessee due to two semis crashing in the westbound lanes. One truck went off the mountain and the other one came over the 4 foot concrete barrier into our eastbound lanes. Not sure on injuries but it did cost us almost an hour to get around it. And then when I got down to 285 around Atlanta it was like a demolition derby. Fortunately, I was able to get around all that. This is why we get the big bucks I suppose.

The bulk of the rain went around us, so I guess we have our own force field to deal with. Just a light rain all day long that came to 0.60" in total.

Yeah, I got 0.41" here. All within a half hour. It was a bit unnerving, though, as Pim was flying out of Tallahassee at that time, and the wind gusts had me concerned. They did delay the flight a short bit, and there were no problems with her getting out for her trip back to Thailand.

Rain yesterday, but they have been saying S Florida is in a drought and grass is turning brown. I thought we had more rain in the fall than ever.

Came home to 1 inch in the rain gauge today. Everything here is starting to turn green. I filled up both of my zero turn mowers, I'm ready for Spring. The pollen started about a week ago up here.

Yeah, I have flowers blooming here. But freezing temps tonight are likely going to smack around those flowers pretty hard.
