2Vettes

Well, we beat the rain out. There were about 15 vettes. We met ?Mellow Yellow from Kentucky who pulled in after we got there. This place was definitely OUT off the beaten path. Luckily none of our vettes were lowered. Anyway, it was a cloudy day but dry while we were there. Here are a few pictures. I can tell you the food was really great and there were grills all over the place. One guy GAVE us a small slab of his wonderful ribs plus we bought good lunches. Anyway, our shiny vettes were not the vehicles of choice as you will see but we had a very nice time. The Harry Chapin Food Bank collected canned goods and cash. Thanks Armando for setting this up:

We went from a paved road to a shell road then to a dirt one and then a path back into the woods!

Looks like a great time, sorry we missed it. Next year for sure!

So were the Vettes a hit, or ignored? They certainly look like they were NOT the local vehicles of choice. :D

The vettes drew attention when we got there. People just stood and watched the parade. I wasn't around the cars for long but when we went to leave there were several men checking the vettes out. We had a '54 that has been completely rebuilt and updated with us and a stock '79, all the others were C5s and C6s.
