Fall 2011 Tally Rallye - Sat. Oct 1st (Tallahassee area)

BTR-75

New member
Greetings Corvettes of Florida!

First of all I don't own a Corvette, but I do love them! My name is Greg Bickford and I'll be organizing and running the Fall 2011 Tally Rallye with the assistance of my brother. I own a 2010 Mustang GT and have been a member of a site from the Tally area (Tallahassee Muscle Car Association) for almost two years now. The Tally Rallye is a Semi-Annual (Spring and Fall) event which is now on it's 3rd year.

What is it?
• A one day driving event taking place around the “Big Bend” area.
• A legal road rally that features some type of competition. Past rallies have featured Time, Speed and Distance (TSD) segments, gimmick rallies or an autocross with a twist.
• It is different every year, but you can rest assured that the Tally Rallye will test your navigation skills, driving ability and definitely your patience.
• It is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
• An evening of dining that features a lively awards ceremony including prizes and a commemorative dash plaque.

Who does it Benefit?
• This Fall’s Rallye is titled “Rallye for Rescues” and will benefit Animal Shelters in Wakulla, Franklin and Gulf counties.
• We will discuss this in further detail the morning of the Rallye.

When and Where?
• Saturday October 1st, 2011 rain or shine.
• Event begins at the Ace Hardware, 2709 Crawfordville Hwy, Crawfordville, FL.
• Registration begins at 8:00 am.
• Mandatory drivers meeting at 8:30 am.
• First car departs at 9:00 am.

How Do I Participate?
• Registration can be started by sending an email to tallyrally@gmail.com
• Bring $25 (no checks please) with you the morning of the event.
• Space is limited, register early please!

If you'd like to register for the Fall Tally Rallye please email me at tallyrally@gmail.com please don't wait to register as space is limited.

Thanks!

Well, sounds interesting, especially since it is based in Crawfordville, but there's a good chance I may be in Silver Spring that day for the show out there.

Understandable, car shows are fun too. It would be nice to see a Corvette contingent in the Rallye though.

I've been challenging different groups to see who can bring the most from their respective groups, I'd hate to see the 'vettes lose to the Porsche folks... or worse the imports!!

In Crawfordville? More likely you'll see a bunch of decked out pickup trucks...... :hehehe:

HA-HA-HA-HA! :lmao::lmao: Funny stuff right there, Rich!
If I was in the area, I would make an appearance. Just to watch the first year,
then to enter in subsequent years if I like the format. Should be fun to watch
or participate in I would think.
Andy

This is a semi-annual event which is on its 3rd year, it's run each spring and fall. This past spring we had among other cars a couple of shelby cobras, a viper, a 68 mustang and many others but no trucks.

Well, if Connie and I aren't in Silver Springs, perhaps we'll stop on by and check it out.

Just an FYI, we won't be at the Ace in Crawfordville much past 9:00 am. That's our starting off point, where we go from there won't be known to the participants until they get their instructions that morning.

Thanks for the note. I'm not known for being an early riser, so that might be an important issue to make note of.

I have to agree that this would be really fun to do, but I am already registered for the Silver Springs show. But since you do a semi annual event I would like some more information about participating in the spring.

If you're already registered for the show then I don't want you to miss something you already planned. I'll be sure to hit this site again for the next Tally Rallye in the spring.

What month in the Spring do you normally hold it? Might be a good idea to give us as much advance notice as you can. Also, you might want to post it on the site event calendar as well.

Hope the rally is a blast for everyone.

Last spring it was held in the 1st week of May, I'm not sure who will be running the next onto as it rotates around so its always different. I'll try and give as much notice as I can though.

The time for the running of the Fall 2011 Tally Rallye is quickly approaching, if you still haven’t registered there is still time… barely! Email me tonight (tallyrally@gmail.com) to get registered, I need to make copies and set all the last minute details (lunch/dinner reservations, etc.) so registration will be cut-off Friday at noon.

I’ll see all the teams Saturday morning at 8:00am at the Ace Hardware on 2709 Crawfordville Hwy, Crawfordville!
