Commute from Brandon to Tampa airport

Tampa Tuning

Tampa Tuner
Hello new found friends. This is my first post on this forum. :wavey:

Im being transfer to Tampa and was looking at homes throughout the county. Nice taxes and insurance you guy pay

I was looking at some homes off bloomingdale and parsons in brandon, and wondering what type of commute that would be into the city

I can modify my hours some, but want to see what the commute to just south of the airport ( W. Gray st ) would be.

Lets say I go into work at the worst time to be there at 8am how long would that take.

Then the return trip at worst time again 5:30p

I dont have a problem taking the crosstown expressway there and back if that's the quickest way.

Or better yet, what would be the quickest way.

I hope to hook up with you guys when I finially move to town and keep my converitible top down all year!

Thanks
Phil

:welcome: I dont know much about the commuting, The most I commute is from Valrico/Dover to Seffner via country roads:rofl1:

Most of the people here make this commute so Im sure they will help, I just wanna say Hi

That commute will take 30-45 minutes at rush hours. They have gretly imporved "disfunction junction" (the meeting of I-4 and I-275, so the inbound traffic is better than it has been in the past.

The Crosstown is a good way into downtown, but then you would have to travel across Kennedy to get out to the area you are going to. And you have a couple of buck worth of tolls each way every day.

I live in Riverview, just south of where you are looking. I used to travel to Oldsmar each day, just north and west of where you are planning to drive to each day. That 35 mile commute took about an hour and 5 minutes each way. You are looking to go halfway.

If you need any helpwith you new home search, need pictures, need someone to check something out for you, please let me know, I am right in the area, so it is no big deal.

Thanks Gordon for your help getting me squared away

Im sure Ill join a club when I get the vette down to FLA, but im more concerned for now about where to live and commuting times :shrug01:

I sure Ill be at work early so going to work wont be a big issue ( 7am)

Its the commute home that Ill hate (5:30 pm). Id love to have your commute antivenom, but that's not going to happen.

When I was driving around in south tampa, I kept saying to myself my car wont be used to all the stop and go traffic., but Ill live 10 more years because of the reduced stress :yesnod:

Of course my wife wants all A schools for my kids and all the other stuff wives want.................bla bla bla. :rofl1:

You are looking at wayyyyyyy too much time in the car if you're living in Brandon and working at the airport. I'd say a minimum 45 minute commute each way. You would do much better looking at places to live in Town and Country, Citrus Park, or Westchase.

Except:

Town & Country-Too many gang bangers and wanna bes:(

Westchase-HOA's are a PITA (I serve the summonses for a bunch of them:rolleyes:)

Citrus Park-Nice area, it's the area I'm in. Just off the Veterans makes the run back and forth to the TIA area a breeze:thumbsup:

Lot of new homes and older homes for better $$. HOA's can still be a PITA though.

Schools are great, shopping convenient and there's always the saturday gathering ant Andrehs's

I reached out for one of the guys ill be working with and he lives in one of the developments I checked out in Brandon by parsons and bloomingdale.

He said he leaves the house at 7am and it takes 30-40 minutes to get to W. Gray street

He said the commute home at 5:30 is more towards 45-50 minutes because of the construction on I 275.

That's pretty much what I have now in Virginia and half of what I had for 10 years in NYC :banghead:

oh yeah my neighborhood is just overrun with gangbangers...forgot to mention that lol. If you don't live there you would not know. Of course I would not recommend living on Hanley Rd.

Thats true; however...I HAVE lived there, patrolled the area for many years, have a mother/father in law that live there, and a nephew that just sold his condo (on Hanley Road & Woodbridge):rofl1: and moved to Lutz:thumbsup:

I'm still in there almost daily looking for people, serving papers, or doing other "things" that need to be done;)

yeah, you could say I'm somewhat familiar with the area:rofl1::lmao:

On ther flip side, the GB'rs and wannabees are proliferating the communities, it's not specific to the TnC area by any means. :NoNo:
