Got the Contributing Memberships stuff finally worked out and made up a thread as a sort of "How-To" to help people figure out how to participate. So if you need help figuring it out, here's the thread you need to take a look at -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3581
Thank you, everyone!
Rich Z.
i would like to open, clean, and fix my turn signal housing. has anyone opened them up with any success? or seen something written up on the matter? thanks
Depending on the type and strength of the sealant GM used at the factory; you can heat up the part in an oven say 200*F for 3-5 mins should make the sealant soft enough to pull the lens from the housing. Checking often you dont want to burn the plastics, just warm the "glue".
This method worked for me back when I used to do retro-fitting projectors into headlight housings on Lincoln LS's, till Ford used better sealant on the later models.
I used a really good clear silicone sealant. just something i got from lowes i believe nothing special just make sure it is completely sealed you dont want it to fog up.
