Clearwater Event

October is a ways off, but there is a special event coming the first part of that month. PAL, Police Athletic League, Pinellas County Sheriff, is losing their funding I believe in July, 2007, which is a $400,000 budget. The company that I work for is scheduling an event at the Quaker Steak and Lube on 49th Street in Pinellas Park. Combining a car show with a motorcycle show on the same day along with raffles including a new motorcycle. Details are still being worked out and new sponsors are coming on baord pretty much daily. PAL is a wonderful group working with kids to keep them on the right track in life and they even feed kids during the summer who normally got their daily food from school everyday. I will post an EMail address tomorrow for anyone wanting to donate, attend, sponsor, etc. I am proud to work for a small company that gives back to the community. This will be a day time event and very family oriented. I am volunteering with my six year old grandson. I believe there will mentions on one of the local motorcycle cable show and also on Brighthouse. Any help is greatly appreciated.

PAL is a great orginization! I worked for them myself quite a few years back.If the show comes together, I'ld like to be there. Keep us updated. :thumbsup:

I agree that PAL is a great organization. Why are they losing thier funding?

Please provide me/us with the date and some details and I'll place it on the calendar for you. Since it's a fundraiser, if Rich doesn't mind, I'll also make it a sticky to keep it in front of the membership and readers.

Please let me know as soon as the info is available. October is a very busy month for car shows, so the sooner the flyers are distributed the better. I am retired from the Pinellas S.O. and I will be more than glad to help. Since very few Vetters go to cruise nights, I will be glad to hand out flyers for you.

The latest update is as follows: Date- October 6th, 2007 starting at 9:00 AM.
Events include: Poker Run,Bike Show, Car Show, Cash Prizes, Awards, Trophies, 50/50 Drawing and an Auction. Quaker Steak and Lube- 10400- 49th Street North, Clearwater, Fl. Event title is the John C. Anderson Memorial Ride. For further details ,or to sponsor or volunteer call 727-447-2998 or
