Need help with air filter element dimensions '66 327/350

Hi guys. I changed out my air filter element and for some reason the cover of the air cleaner is rubbing against the underside of the hood. I changed it out with a Fram. I am hoping the Fram is just too darn high! If anyone could provide filter element dimensions I would be grateful. Thanks. Happy Easter
 
I measured mine (it measured 3" high) and went to the auto parts store and picked out one that fit. I needed a max of 2 1/2" high.
