GM and Yahoo

When I bought my Vette, I created an account at MyGMLink.com.
It keeps track of any service performed to the car as well as a few other things.
Today I logged on and the site linked me to open a Yahoo account. It looks like they are working with GM and will manage the database.
My issue is that in order to continue, I have to open a Yahoo account.
I don't want to do that. Why is GM doing this? :shrug01:

My "guess" would be because Yahoo offered them a large wad of $$$ for the information.

This would expand Yahoo's data base and marketing opportunities.

You are probably right. They are not going to get me though. :NoNo:
I don't need another on/line account or more crap coming to my email.

I know what you mean:(

I've stopped using my personal e-mail account simply due to the spam I get there. Have it pretty well blocked on the business account.

One day I'll get around to doing something about the other one.

MyGM was supposed to transfer any service records that you put in mygm to Yahoo and guess what, it never happened and I had to put all my service records back in myself.

My MyGMLink is now gonna go unused as well.
