HOT!!

The other day we were driving the C5Z up in Tallahassee and got stuck in some traffic. Temp showing on the outside temp sensor was showing 104 degrees..... I checked on the coolant temps and saw it up at 234 degrees  Once I got moving it dropped down to 215 degrees or so, which seems to be about normal running temps once the engine compartment gets hot. During regular cruises at 60mph or so, the temps will generally hover around 208 degrees.

I'm thinking about maybe getting one of those high capacity aluminum radiators and trying a 160 degree thermostat. Anyone replaced their own radiator? How much screaming and cussing is involved? Seems like the hood would be getting in the way the entire time. In some respects, I miss the front opening hood.......

Heck, now that I'm thinking of it, I guess I should check to make sure both of the fans are even working. For all I know, one might not even be doing it's job.

And I guess I need to check to make sure that the radiator itself isn't clogged up with debris. Got those handy-dandy race ramps, so I guess I should put them to good use...

Plus, bear in mind that the STS intercooler sits in front of the radiator as well.... So that certainly will have some effect on the cooling.

Well there ya go Einsteinm ya figgered it out all by yerself:rofl1: (You know I'm just messing with ya bro! )
