Strike forces GM to idle Detroit assembly plant

General Motors confirmed today that on Monday it will idle its Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant, which builds the Cadillac DTS and Buick Lucerne sedans. The UAW strike at American Axle already has halted GM's U.S. light-truck production.
