We're going to St Augustine .

Wassup!!!
Howdy there everyone!

The wife (TX Momma) and I are going to head on up to St. Augustine on the 14th (after the 5 Bridges run on sunday).

It's a belated birthday gift for her, she loves it there (it's our favorite place in FL).

Anyway, just thought i'd share that bit of information with the forum, in the event anyone wanted to hook up for dinner, drinks or whatever.
We'll be staying at the Inn on Charlotte (B&B) till Wednesday.

Anyone....Anyone...:D

I suggested that to the wife for our anniversary this weekend, then she said...I was thinking the Keys....:dancer01: :dancer01:

St. Augustine is such a beautiful and peaceful city:thumbsup:

Enjoy:thumbsup:

Heck, Connie and I have been trying to get to St. Augustine for quite a while now, but every time I check the weather forecast for Thursday thru Saturday, it just SUCKS. What is with all the rain we've been getting lately?

We headed out to Apalachicola this afternoon and it was bright and sunny out. We stopped in at a restaurant in Apalach (Scipio Creek) and when we came out the fog was so thick you could cut it with a knife. When we got back home, it was obvious that the sky had opened up. But at least Connie got to drive the C6 for a while....

Anyway, the 14th would probably be out for us. We have one or more workers coming in on Monday....... :shrug01:

Besides, Rich & Connie could only go 55 so they would be late. :lmao:

But St. Augustine is great. Judy & I usually stay at the White Orchid B&B which is south of there on the beach.

So how is she with THE CAR?

When we were sitting in the kitchen preparing to leave, Connie said she was NERVOUS about driving the C6. Couldn't come up with a reason, though.

After she got behind the wheel and got on the road, she was fine with it. I think maybe she was just nervous because of the push button startup procedure and that it was all kind of different to her. We put about 120 miles on it so we are THAT much closer to that 500 mile goalpost. Even she said that she can't wait for that milemarker so she can see how it handles on the curves at higher speeds.

But I can see where this is going to be a problem... My poor old Z06 is going to start feeling neglected if SHE wants to drive HER car on the days we can go out for a spin for a few hours....... :nonod: Maybe we will have to take the walkie-talkies and have our own little caravan.

We drove all the way to Apalach and back and didn't see a single other Corvette the entire time... :shrug01:

You got THAT right! It feels like we are just crawling down the road at that speed. I believe I saw two or three box turtles passing us on the shoulder.

And you can bet those cars whizzing past us are thinking, "What the heck did they buy a Corvette for if they are going to drive SLOW like that?" :lmao:

A Mustang blew past us on the way to Apalach and I could see that Connie wanted to show him a thing or two......... I don't think she really realizes what 400 ponies and passing gear is going to feel like, though... :D

Box Turtles passing is OK. But watch out for the Crock-A-Dile's. They will get your tires. :lmao:
