Default RichZ begins the question....

What oil do you use? I run Valvoline full synthetic 10W-30 but what do you guys run and why? Is it's use based on actual research or what? I have no clue, might be a better product but you guys tell me.

My decision to go with Royal Purple was mostly influenced by the results of a test posted in this earlier thread -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forum...ead.php?t=2598

Contributing influences were posts I read by other people in reference to this brand of oil as well as results they got from the transmission fluid change using the same brand.

I felt that the turbos would probably benefit from the lubricating properties of Royal Purple and in particular may help reduce the wear and tear that the impellers will undergo over time. It doesn't take much to hear those suckers spooling up, so I think better lubrication to them will certainly help. Might even allow them to spool up even quicker.

I use Mobil 1,but I have used Royal Purple in some my other muscle cars I have had.I'm going to try Redline on the next oil change,Have friends who swear by it.Don't forget to use a good oil filter, you really get what you pay for in those,I currently use Bosch brand but I'm thinking I'm going to try something else next time.I have the magnet for my filter and a magnet drain plug,so far they are working and no major metel flacks, you will have some small small one's with a aluimian block.redlineoil.com

Use Castrol with Wix or NAPA filters. I change oil & filter every 3000 or less so see no benefit for me in synthetic.
When I was wayyyyyyy younger, I used to use Wolfs Head. I was taught just make sure the oil has greenish cast and not black.

I use Mobil 1 in the '01 and the Z06.

For the '69 BB, I use Pennzoil 20w-50.

These have been working for me!
