Actually, I fully understand that a business has to have cash flow and in order to do so, has to take in jobs as they come available. That's one of the drawbacks to paying up front for a long involved project like this. Eventually, you get pushed to the back burner, because paying customers wind up having higher priority than the ones where no new money will be forthcoming. This sort of thing can't help but generate some anger and frustration as it becomes obvious then that your priority level has dropped down below ANY paying job that comes to their door. I am not saying for certain that this has become the case, but it completely boggles my mind that something as simple as the replacing of the timing chain cover is going to take a full week to accomplish. I just can't reconcile this fact with the claim that my car is anywhere near the top of the priority list, I'm afraid.

So since the old timing chain cover is already off, is it safe to assume that putting it back ON from that point would only take 1.5 to 2.5 hours?

Depending on other brackets in the way, yes. Goes together easier than it comes apart, but the rack is a ROYAL PAIN!!

Well, apparently the hold-up is that Chris is waiting for some stainless steel bolts for the water pump and the timing chain cover to come in.

But regardless, my car won't be drivable this week anyway, as the turbos won't be back from being recoated by Jet Hot anyway till maybe next week.

And Lord only knows when those new headers will finally show up.

Well Rich it sure looks like your build and mine are sure getting dragged out. If Chris is waiting on parts for yours it sure seems like he could be getting the top end of mine put on. I sure didn't expect a rebalance job would take this long.No telling how much longer it's going to take.

I gotta ask Mike. I never heard of a re-balance. What's that?

When the motor was balanced the first time it wasn't right and I had a bad vibration. It was sent to LME to be redone with a correct balance, all new bearings, piston rings and put back together. The motor came back the first week of June. It was the short block assembly that was redone.
