Anna Maria Island
Just a week away from a weeks excursion to Anna Maria Island. My wife, our little tuff tuff Bull Terrier Molly a few fishing poles. Not going to take "Peek" down. White dog hair in a black interior is not a pretty thing. Will be there from 9/28 till 10/5.
Think I'll try to find Captain Jack Sparrow's lost rum. ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

man I am jealous. I am only about an hour and a half from there and always wanted to go but my work schedule will not allow right now. Scope out some good establishments and let us know some recommendations.

Where are you staying, Ken? Connie and I would like to find a nice beach house in that area to give it a try. We just got back from a week on Manasota Key.

Mark, I'll shoot you a PM and Rich we choose to stay at a mom n pop place that's been there since the 60's (or 70's or so) called The Anna Maria Motel. Truly a little ole place but very close to the water and comfy.

Ken, I am going to leave the "wet the line" comment alone. Way too easy!!!
I have some friends from my old Corvette club in Maryland that live on Anna Maria Island. So, Joyce and I go up a couple times a year to visit. There is a restaurant called the Sandbar that we have been to a number of times. My recollection is that the food has always been very good, not great, not bad, but very good. But what I like about the Sandbar is that their outdoor dining are tables right on the beach. You can actually have your feet in the sand while sitting eating dinner. It is a favorite of people there because you can sit and have drinks or eat dinner while watching the sunset. In season, you can have a wait to get a table. Here is a link to their website.

I hope this helps!
Rich

![thumbsup](images/smilies/2232thumb.gif) The Sandbar is OK. Food is fair. Ambience is great. We can go here if you want or if you want great food, we can check out Sign of the Mermaid.

Been a long time since I've done any surf fishing down there. Can anyone offer what's being caught and early or late in the day and on what?
No worries I will have found Capt. Jacks rum by then but fishing is fun and good fish for dinner is even better.
You coastal boys should be able to help with this. All suggestions greatly appreciated.
