My House In Maryland Is For Sale, AND...

I'm open to all suggestions and thoughts. :D

The house has only been on the market for 2 weeks, but I haven't had one call or one "showing".

The POSITIVE side of this deal is that my house is SPOTLESS. We keep the place that way "just in case" someone wants to look at it during the day when we're not here.

The beds are made, all the dishes are put away, the floors are spotless....

It's TOUGH not being a bit messy, but...................... :D

Have an appointment with my accountant Monday. Gotta go through some financial stuff, like my business, the new house in Florida, etc.

Hey Chuck,

Last year we did not have a showing on our house for the first month. And your right, it is difficult to keep the house spotless while you are still living in it. Then we reduced our price to get it under $600k and we started getting people through the house. I know our situation was a little different than yours, but we finally decided to get out of town and let the Realtor have the house. We came down to our house in Ft. Myers for the entire month of August. We started the trip up to Maryland Labor day weekend to spend a couple of weeks closing the pool and getting the house ready for winter. Our Realtor reached us in NC on our way back and told us we had a contract on the house.

We were very fortunate, it sold in 90 days. But we did not get emotional about our house and what it was worth. As I mentioned before, we took $60k less than we felt it was worth, but at least we were done with it. I am glad we made that decision. If we had turned down that offer, I might still be holding that property in Fallston.

The situation will work out for you and Pat. Timing is everything in this market and it just might require you guys to adjust a little, either in schedule or price.

Looking forward to you guys coming down permanently. We'll figure out a way to hook up every couple of months along with the Otto's and the Childs.

Thanks for the encouraging words, Rich.

Spoke with my realtor today. She said the entire realty biz is literally DEAD. She's with REMAX. No phone calls on anything they have listed....

No showings/viewings. Literally no interest in anything up here, probably till this mortgage mess is straightened out. The rates have gone up over 7% recently, BTW.

I've talked to Gary and Susan a few times. Haven't seen Tommy for awhile, but I see his daughter Hanna a few times per month. She works at Courtland Hardware while going to HCC.

Hanna keeps me up-updated on Tom and Jeannie.
